I guess Australia is going to ban assault knives now.
"He just stabbed that dude for nothing because he was jealous because my friend, who I did juvey [juvenile detention] with, and have known her since we were babies, and he got cut and that's the only reason he carried on like that,'' said witness Melinda Garcia.

Way ahead of your there. The NSW Summary Offences Act 1998 makes it an offence for a person to have custody of a knife in a public place without reasonable excuse. Plus you have to be over 16 to buy them, that includes steak knives from your local Target.

Had to do a bit of googling there. Never heard of those, so I guess there isn't a push for them.
To be fair though, most laws we pass here are knee-jerk reactions to crimes. All the media focus has been on one-punch attacks, and they haven't found out how to ban hands yet.

Forced amputation? At least then everyone would be disabled so everyone would be allowed to join in the victim culture game.

Instead they've banned all take away booze sales after 10:30pm, and made it illegal to enter a bar in inner Sydney after 1:30am. Think I'd rather the hand amputation...
